Easter Celebration...

Easter is a time of awakening for me, a breath of clarity and purpose. These past few months have found me outside every moment breathing and feeling at peace only when outside. I am loving the cold, crisp air and the morning rhythm of setting out the bird feeder, watching the chickens gather at their door to be let out into the world to explore and having a few moments of peace before I dive back inside to make breakfast and gather all of us at the table before the hubs goes to work...
It has been a full week of family, friends and fresh air...
A full, wonderful week...
We made paper mache eggs using flour, water and a dash of clove oil. We used brown paper bags as paper strips and wrapped them around a blown up balloon. Once they dried, the kids painted them and we displayed them on the table with some wheat berry grass. It looks so sweet and was a fun, messy (but easy clean up) project!
Our sweet friend Chevy came early in the week with a huge pile of eggs with treats that she hid outside around the house. The kids were so sweet racing around and trying to find them all.
We used onion skins and made dye for our lovely little chicks' eggs. They have been producing all winter and it has been a wonderful part of each day gathering eggs and taking care of the hens.
We blew out a few eggs to make a new little decoration for our kitchen lamp...
And it was really fun to have family around to celebrate the weekend, we went a little crazy...
