Good Eats!

We are finally harvesting from our little garden! So exciting! AnaSofia and I picked a few tomatoes, a pepper and a bunch of peas that she proceeded to eat with gusto. I managed to put a few things towards dinner but I guess the true lesson I wanted her to learn was that fresh veggies come from the ground and are good to eat... Lesson learned!
Here it is this Spring once I finished building and planting my seedlings.

Eating the peas.

Contemplating grabbing the pepper next...

Grill pizza with the rest on a homemade wheat dough, so yummy...

Phew! Recovery...

We are recovering here in the Muscato Hansen household - adjusting to life without any visitors. Well, Soren is still working like a madman as usual, but AnaSofia and I are trying to find our routine again without the excitement of our friends around. We are looking forward to seeing all our playgroup friends next week.
AnaSofia the morning after Sarah left - ha ha look at that little face!

Um... I guess it doesn't take us long to be bouncing off the ceiling again!

Sarah to Maine!

My best friend from GRADE school came to visit last week for a SHORT trip due to a HUGE interview she has this week. We have seen her every year for the past few years and love that she makes the trip from CA to see us. I wish we saw each other more often...

The girls posing.

Penny (who is in love with hedgehog) is now really in love with the stingray Sarah brought for AnaSofia. She likes to sit with them at night when we are up watching a movie.

Happy Birthday - Take 3 - The Official Day

We decided to do low key (relative term - Soren thinks I am OVER THE TOP on birthdays... I can't help it) for her birthday day this year (no 25 person party AND we have already celebrated twice this year!). It was also special because Jen was here to help ring in this HUGE milestone for our little one. AnaSofia is ALL ABOUT being 2 now, she is really proud of being a "big girl" (until dr. adams told her binky has to go... She is really thinking hard on that one and discussing it A LOT! ha ha!). Here are some photos of her celebrating the big day.
A special breakfast!

Kalie (our neighbor) came by with clothes for the bear she had bought AnaSofia last year.

The fish cake (it took a long time to decide on the shape - she kept changing her mind!)...

She also requested the cake be chocolate, I found a really yummy recipe that she seemed to enjoy!

Jen to Maine!

It was SO GREAT to have my friend Jen in Maine for a fantastic, long weekend. We haven't seen each other since Cornell days but keep in touch by email. It was such a wonderful time to SEE her and hear about her adventures in NYC. She was a lot of fun to have around and the perfect guest for AnaSofia's birthday weekend. We hope she'll make the trip more often!
Beautiful Jen on the coast.

We all grooved at the North Atlantic Blues Fest in Rockland on Saturday.

AnaSofia grooving, she REALLY loves dancing...

Jen teaching AnaSofia to play soccer, it was so cute to see her charge out from her goal posts!

AnaSofia's Birthday - Take 2

The "adventure moms" got together at the park to celebrate Garrett, Cole and AnaSofia's birthday. They all turn 2 this week! We had a lot of fun eating cupcakes and hanging out with friends. Thanks for the photos Laura! We are so sad this is our last birthday with Garrett for awhile - I have faith we'll see you again!!!
Garrett and AnaSofia discussing sharing and the woes of being a big sibling...

AnaSofia GREATLY enjoying her cupcake!

Lovely LONG weekend

We had FOUR whole days with Soren this weekend (a RARE occasion - he is a BUSY guy!) and it was SO fun to be together. He thought he had to haul firewood on Sunday but it was canceled and we decided to go to Acadia instead. The coast was beautiful in the morning - there was a thick fog out on the water:

Whenever AnaSofia sits in the driver's seat of the car to play driving she says, "take mommy to the ocean" so you can imagine she was so excited today. She was just racing around and squealing for a LONG time.

She REALLY cracks me up more than anyone else I know...

We went out for lobsters on the fourth and came home to light sparklers and blow bubbles before bedtime. I made daiquiris (well, smoothies - complete with flaxseed... only Soren's had vodka in it. Ah, to drink a cocktail again...). It was SUCH a fun weekend...

A little video!

The LOVELY Caroline Hansen (Soren's sister who I did not get ENOUGH photos of in Denmark) has her own blog site:

She posted a video of AnaSofia in Denmark celebrating her birthday. It is pretty cute... Thank you FARSTOR (ha ha! sorry about that!) Caroline!!!

Early Birthday Gifts!

AnaSofia was so excited to see Elizabeth last week and even more excited when she realized there were gifts! Elizabeth is FAMOUS for spoiling AnaSofia with sweet outfits and fun toys (she has her own box of toys at their house!) and her 2nd birthday gifts were a HUGE hit.
She loves Elmo and has been playing with this giggle ball for DAYS.

She also received two beautiful dresses that are PERFECT for summer!

Check her out later in the day (in her new dress) with one of our many yard turtles, we often walk them back down the yard to the wetland.

Rare Sighting!

A toddler eating broccoli! Surprisingly AnaSofia is a veggie eater and I LOVE it. I have heard horror stories about little ones not eating healthy and I am so grateful for our little health nut!
