A Little Project for a Quiet Day

We are supposed to get a lot more snow tomorrow, CANNOT wait to see it! We are having a lot of fun playing in the yard and on the wetland. I am trying to make indoors fun too. We are so thankful for all the gifts pouring in lately! It has been so much fun to have such fun things to open. AnaSofia really loves all her big sister gifts, especially the Raggedy Ann from Trish that I posted about earlier. She thinks Raggedy Ann is pretty special - I think Trish is pretty special! Thank you my girl! Trish also sent some heart shaped ice cube trays that AnaSofia and I repurposed for a fun project I found on marthastewart.com. It is a perfect way to get rid of all the broken crayon pieces that seem to pile up around here, AnaSofia has a nifty new holder for her crayons so we sacrificed all the other ones to make the crazy crayons.
Cutting up the crayons into pieces. No, I didn't let her use the knife but she did have fun chasing all the pieces around the room as they flew EVERYWHERE and organizing them by color.

Baking in the oven, I actually forgot about them and we went out to lunch and came home and they were still baking... I've got A LOT on my mind these days!

The finished product, and her cool new handmade holder for her other crayons. This project was a great way to pass the time with a toddler and it is going to make great Valentine's gifts for AnaSofia's friends.

My favorite gift, beautiful flowers from a beautiful friend. So thoughtful and cheerful for the winter months.

Self-portrait of a day

We have been enjoying the warmer temperatures (20s!) and 18 inches of snow that piled on our house this weekend. It is so great to get outside and use up all our energy in the fresh air. I have been using the sling for Kasper 90% of the day, he likes to be in the middle of everything even though he sleeps all the time. The sling we use is from Israel (a gift from our friends) and it is so great because he is super close to me and I am completely mobile. I LOVE it and used it a lot for AnaSofia too.

When I go outside, I just put on a warm vest and BIG coat to keep him cozy and he seems content - well, he is always grunting and talking in his own little way but he looks cozy to me!

Today I had him in the sling and pulled AnaSofia in the sled down to the lake and back and around our wetland. Phew, the snow was DEEP (up to my knees in the wetland).

AnaSofia checking out the view on a snowbank.

Glorious evening when Far comes home and takes over - last night he made dinner, cleaned the kids up, fixed the furnace AND cleaned up. What a guy!

Faster Caroline put up some great video and photos of her time with us this holiday season. You can check them out at her blog. We miss her too much these days!

BABYMOON!

We are all over the top in love with new little Kasper these days. He is such a sweet, easygoing little guy and has really tugged at our heartstrings with his innocence and big sleep smiles. Even AnaSofia seems hooked on her little bro...

Yes, AnaSofia is naked a lot - we should probably be living somewhere warmer, thank goodness for the woodstove!

We have been outside enjoying the snow a lot. Kasper fits in the sling inside a coat FarFar left here a few years ago so it has been pretty easy to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and snow.

A little belly sleeping to keep everything moving!

A little sleep smile. He does these HUGE ones, big grins - I love it and haven't captured it YET.

We love Faster Caroline!!!

Soren's sister has been here helping us (and supposedly vacationing) for the past three weeks. She has been an AMAZING help and uplifting presence to all of us during this joyful and busy time (did I mention she is a NICU nurse too?!). She has been cleaning, cooking, babysitting, laughing and smiling through the whole three weeks and I am so thankful for her time here. We will all be so sad for her to leave tomorrow. It is SO HARD having family so far away! We love you all and are so thankful for everyone's support and love. THANK YOU Faster Caroline for all your talks, hugs and help - you really are amazing!!! It will be a quiet house here tomorrow without you.

Baby love...

Sharing her nephew with his first visitor, our lovely friend Nicole! Thank you Nicole for making the trip all the way from Tasmania to see Kasper (okay and to maybe do a few other things too!).

Welcome to the World...

Our new little love is here!!! I am SO in love with him!
Kasper Vincent Muscato Hansen was born on December 30, 2008 at 10:42 pm.
He was 8 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long and SO beautiful!
Here are a few photos of the big day...

View from the labor and delivery room, yeah I didn't really take the time to enjoy it but it was an amazing sight...

First glimpses and bonding...

Little Kasper gave AnaSofia a present when she came to see him, she was SO excited...

And because the blog is still "all about AnaSofia" until Mama updates it, here is the BIG sister reading a novel to Raggedy Ann while on the potty... Life goes on!
