Family

It was a long road there and home again, but so very worth it...

I love each of you to pieces. Let's do it again next year, even better. Shall we? Magnus wants to be up on the stairs then too...
They are crazy and wild, but so very fun.

Love you both for all you did this week to make my trip possible. Thank you...

Seven

I woke up this morning and hugged you... Hard. And once I had said it, "Seven." I realized it was going to be okay. Seven sounded so beautiful on you. You are this amazing force, full of such life, love and thoughtfulness and you have always been wise beyond your years. But seven, it suits you. I can see you growing from seven to eight to nine and beyond... I will always be a little bit in awe of you - your unflappable character, never igniting in the face of others' anger or injustices but always being so incredibly in tune with others. You are a good friend and an even more wonderful daughter. I love you with all my heart.

Wild Foraging

Gathering from the fields, woods and out and about... So much goodness out there for us this time of year. Many of the raspberries and blueberries do not make it through the door, but the flowers are something Mama gets to use for tinctures, tonics, teas and wine. Trying to preserve just a wee bit of summer for those dark days of winter up ahead...

10 months

You have exploded with personality this month - clapping, laughing (trying out the laugh of each person you meet), "the grimace", crawling everywhere with hands spread in the sweetest orientation (pinky extended way out, three fingers close together and thumb alone), pulling up on me (and often pulling off my skirt in the process, cute at home not so fun when we are out) and entertaining us all. I finally found the key to feeding you, absolutely no "baby" food - you want to eat what the big kids eat, chewing chunks of whatever it might be - I am trying to embrace it as you choke down huge bites of avacado, frozen blueberries and raw carrots. Happy Independence Day little fella.
Sorry that you have inherited two extra mamas in the form of your older siblings, know Kasper will always lead you to the dangerous (and wildly fun) things to do and AnaSofia will be the voice of reason. Take notes from each.

They really love you, and so do I, every inch of you.
