A flurry of sewing...

With the winter weather still giving us lots of lovely snow (and thankful breaks of warm sunshine!), we have contentedly been working away inside making each room more like home and doing lots of little sewing projects...
Kasper received two mama-made pairs of reversible pants (one side flannel for warmth!) and one more gifted pair from a special family. All three are keeping him so warm this winter...

The sweet chicken flannel on these are perfect for the little chicken farmer to be

Rooms are getting cozier with lots of little requests by AnaSofia including seat cushions for the art table,

and a guitar strap for her guitar, with a polka dotted fabric ("because it is really girly and I am a girl") and floral side ("because everyone likes purple and flowers")!

I could have my sewing machine whirling all day completing these child directed projects, it is so satisfying to finish a project in a day and continue on down the list, but I am really looking forward to getting dirty outside soon!

Felting Fun

Some very thoughtful friends gave us a huge, colorful bag of wool roving for Christmas and it has been used for endless projects... We started with the quintessential acorn - something the kids could shape and were excited about.

Moved onto hearts because are we not all thinking of love this month?

And I am now embarking on a two story fairy house complete with mushrooms and flowers with the guidance of this image from a Maine based company. It is coming along and the kids are really excited about choosing colors and deciding where the flowers will go!

It is a whole new world of creativity and I am excited to do even more as the kids are able to work with the needles themselves.
