We are sewing!

Okay so because Mom wanted to see it... I FINALLY got my sewing machine back from the manufacturers and decided to try and sew something (I NEVER have before but Soren's Mom was convinced in January that I could knit and sew after a few lessons!). I managed to sew a pillow and a little outfit for AnaSofia so far (I will post her in the outfit as soon as I can wrestle her into it...). But the pillow came out okay, I am not using patterns (come on I am an artist, ha ha!) and instead used the lid on the garbage can as a guide for a circle. SO could be interesting. I have some pretty wild and loud fabrics (I consider them mod, but maybe they are too much...). I am still working on knitting, time will tell if I have the patience! AnaSofia is also modeling her new tights from Trish - who spoiled her with LOTS of outfits for Easter!!! Thank you Trish!!!

Easter Weekend!

AnaSofia had a big Easter weekend! She met the Easter bunny (and Easter moose) on Saturday with her friend Islwyn and his family. We all went to a festival of sorts (well, a really small Maine one) where they had candy, eggs and clowns. The kids were in awe of it all.

AnaSofia and I colored Easter eggs (which went shockingly well for what I was picturing with a 20 month old!) later in the day after she fed some treats to her favorite bunny.

Sunday morning AnaSofia woke up and found a trail of eggs from the Easter bunny leading to a little basket - well, it was actually a bug catcher, which Soren and I thought would be SO cool (I know, scientists) until AnaSofia talked to cousin Thomas on Skype later in the day and saw his new fire truck (she LOVES fire trucks)... Poor kid!
I wish I had a way to put video on the blog (I am working on it!) because Easter morning was SO funny because AnaSofia was more concerned about the "garbage" on the floor (the little cardboard holders for the Easter eggs) then about finding what the Easter bunny left her. She would pick up each egg, extract it from its holder exclaiming "icky garbage!" and run it over to the garbage can. It took HOURS to find the basket and Soren and I were rolling on the floor laughing. She is good entertainment!

Islwyn, My Best Buddy

AnaSofia and her friend Islwyn are really enjoying playing together. Developmentally they are at the same level and it is so fun to see them interact. Lately both of them talk about each other when the other is not around and get very excited to see one another. It is really fun for Sarah and I because we also like each other and get a chance to have adult chats! I had to share some photos of them "racing" cars together, Islwyn was a champ about having to ride the pink car - too cute!!!

Spring Rain!

Spring is really making a valiant effort here in Maine - we are getting BUCKETS of rain on top of our MANY layers of snow. It is a start! I am so envious of my friend Sarah's vegetable beds and flower plantings (she lives in CA) - so fantastic! So I decided to share a few photos of my own little Spring flower

Whom I love very much

And this little flower LOVES chocolate

And playing games

Her latest trick is to say "play games Mama! play games Mama!" and I either have to chase her around doing EXACTLY as she does or paste the Easter cling ons to the window while she counts the number of eggs or flowers. She is able to count to 10 in English and Danish for Soren and I, which is pretty cute! It has become an obsession to count EVERYTHING - how many blueberries she is eating, how many crackers to Penny or whatever! It must be a stage? Good thing she doesn't have a sibling because I can only imagine all the headaches I would have making sure all is even!!! Too funny!

Angel Hair

No other moment is quite as exciting to AnaSofia as the moment Soren comes home ("Far hjemme! Far hjemme!"). I finally caught her today by photograph while he was throwing her in the air - the flight of her hair is just SO funny. It always makes me laugh, you can see how long it is getting by the pigtails!

Happy Anniversary Soren!

Dedicating this post to my lovely hubs - we have been married 4 years today! It has been an exciting journey and I feel very blessed to be part of our little family. Thanks for being such a thoughtful, funny and intelligent partner! You are the best!
