Celebrating Birthdays...

I am so lame this month! I have zero energy to write and haven't posted in a long time. Takes all my energy to keep up with the WALKING little monkey, AnaSofia. She is so fun right now, a kid rather than a baby and full of love and hugs. We have been traveling a lot, hanging out with friends and trying to enjoy the summer. Last weekend was the Folk Festival here and AnaSofia loved the music. She was dancing and clapping in the 90 degree weather - too cute. I was grumpy and sweating in case you were wondering. We celebrated her friend Islwyn's birthday last weekend and Soren's the weekend before.

Beating the Heat

It has been really hot here in Maine. Well, by Mainer standards! It actually went down to 55 last night and was gorgeous and 70s today. I love that weather - is there anywhere in the world that it is like that year around? Let me know, I am there. But on the really hot days (like this weekend when it was just sticky and unbearable)I really slow down and I hate that. I like to MOVE and want to enjoy the long days and sunshine but just don't have the energy for it and the heat makes me feel "ugh". To make the heat more bearable I gave AnaSofia the "Posh Spice" bob cut (she looks so cute!) and took her to a waterpark in town to cool off and have some fun with Soren. It was a really good time and such a cool place right downtown with waterslides, kiddie pools and all kinds of different attractions for $1 a person! So fantastic!

Exploring the Lake

My friend Sarah and I took our little ones to the lake this week to cool off. The little munchkins had a good time. They mostly ignored each other, although Islwyn tried to touch AnaSofia's leg a few times and she kept slapping it away. It was hilarious. Soren is proud of his girl and hopes she will still do that in 16 years. Ahahahaha!

Too many berry stories...

I haven't had a chance to put up any photos of AnaSofia in awhile, and I am still working on the 1st birthday album! Life has been busy, good busy. We had a friend in town last weekend to defend his Ph.D. and we had a picnic for him with some friends and faculty at the University. I managed to take zero photos. Classic. Then AnaSofia and I have been off housesitting in Newburgh for a little over a week on and off. She had a BLAST! She loves the dog and cat we take care of and giggles like crazy when they give her a little attention. The strawberries I planted are just producing fruit now. I was so excited last week and showed the lone strawberry I found to AnaSofia. She LOVES strawberries and ate it and asked for more. I tried explaining to her (mind you she is 1) that only one strawberry was ripe and she started CRYING. I felt so bad, Soren came out of the house and was all a flutter that she was crying and ran in to thaw a few strawberries we had picked the week before at the farm. So funny, we have so much to learn! But... While housesitting I found a few raspberries which she LOVED and demanded more so I am scrambling all over rocks and thicket to find more. I really need to think before I do things! I just so much want for her to learn that food doesn't come from the refrigerator! So... Yesterday my friend Jessie and I went blueberry picking on this amazing hill in Winterport. I plopped AnaSofia down on the path and we went off picking after giving her a few berries. We forgot (not really) about her for a little while and looked back to see her crawling along and picking her own berries! She did that the whole time! It was really sweet.
