Blue Hill Fair

AnaSofia and I headed to the coastal town of Blue Hill this weekend for the country fair to give Soren time to work on his grant. We had such a good time seeing the rides (I couldn't convince her to ride the merry-go-round, even after paying $5 in tickets - argh!), watching the horse and oxen shows and petting all the animals. She was very excited to meet "Llama Llama Red Pajama" (a favorite book of hers)...

The Folk Festival

This weekend was a busy one filled with good weather and good cheer.
We went with friends to the Folk Festival in town on Friday night for the parade and to listen to some music...

And Saturday and Sunday we went back to catch some more music after AnaSofia's naptime. Its free and ten minutes away - who can resist?!

There was some fun zydeco, irish, latin and blues music. AnaSofia had a lot of fun dancing. Yes, she ALWAYS wears that tutu. The other FOUR are "too scratchy" and any other outfit just wouldn't be the same apparently!

Trying to contain AnaSofia as she is charming everyone around her (they also had chocolate cake...).

"Are you awake back there?" Still smiling at the end of the day!

Friends

So Sarah was showing all these photos of her cat and bunny sharing their space so I had to post a few of Penny and Yuga. It has only been a week and they are FAST friends. It is really sweet. Yuga is definitely part of the family, he fits in perfectly with us all and is such a lovey little guy!

Sailing!

THIS is what Maine is all about! This weekend we went down to Lamoine and sailed with friends on their sailboat around the Porcupine Islands for a FULL day. It was PERFECT weather and AnaSofia LOVED being on the boat. Our friends have a 4 year old and a 1.5 year old and they are really sweet kids. It was such a perfect way to spend some family time and catch up with friends. We saw seals, a porpoise, lots of birds and MANY beautiful islands and places to live! The Margaret Todd came right past us, which was a real thrill. It is a four masted schooner and quite impressive when you are blowing right past it! We also saw some cod net pens from Great Bay Aquaculture - well, that is probably only fascinating to me! We didn't take any photos because Soren didn't trust me with the D200 on the boat = ) Just imagine us ALL smiling (Soren was captain most of the time)and AnaSofia literally hopping up and down the whole time in excitement. She slept well last night!

A Lovely Saturday

So great to be home... I have been busy baking and freezing all our veggies and fruits. This weekend is a big antiques fair in Union, Maine and I am going to check it out - hope to find some fun stuff! We all went to the Farmer's Market the other day to hang out and see what is in season. AnaSofia wore her FABULOUS new dress that my friend Sarah (Islwyn's Mom) made for her. I had to show off a few photos of it, Sarah is SO talented!

Seeing Heather and her family!

While we were in NY with my parents, Soren was away drooling over airplanes. He came home via BWI and had a four hour layover there. Heather, John and Thomas all came to the airport and ate breakfast with him. I am so jealous! Heather is due ANY MINUTE NOW and looks completely fantastic and happy. I am so glad Soren gave her some hugs from all of us!

A New Addition!

No the baby isn't here yet! Although I feel like it almost that time with how fast my belly is growing! BUT... We did bring home a kitten from Nana and Boppa's - I couldn't resist and AnaSofia was SO excited to pick one out and take it home with us. We conducted "interviews" all vacation and decided on a little tiger who is SO affectionate and already a part of the family (well, Penny might feel differently!).
Here is a photo of a VERY tired Mama who just drove 10 hours and the Cayuga the Cat (a.k.a Yuga).

Visiting Family in NY

AnaSofia and I logged A LOT of car time on this trip - driving about 1600 miles! She was SUCH a trooper the whole way - singing to me, playing games and just being GOOD. We went to Buffalo with my parents to see all (well, a lot!) of my extended family on both sides. We saw both great grandmothers, aunts and uncles and lots of cousins. It was a special time.

Lots of cousins and a new addition - little Emma, just a few weeks old!

Off to Nana and Boppa's!

AnaSofia and I took off to my parents' farm in NY while Far went to OshKosh for a HUGE general aviation party (er, conference). We all had a good time! It was so fun to see my parents and hang out with them. They have 16 kittens on the farm due to a drop off - so sad! But they are taking good care of them and AnaSofia LOVED it!

All in all - a very fun trip!
