Bugs and Gardens...

We are pretty fascinated by bugs and slugs around here, anything that is around the garden while we are weeding and planting is fair game for inspection with AnaSofia's magnifying glass and binoculars.

For my birthday, Soren surprised us with a bug habitat for long term observations.

Kasper and I found AnaSofia a very cool salamander on a VERY early morning run.

Our "taddies", tadpoles from the neighbors little garden pond.

Our garden is full of tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, peas, cucumbers and watermelons (we are sooo excited for these! Thanks Sarah!) - it is so green now!

Some new flowers that were planted last year and liking their new home...

My own little bug...

who is wondering if Momma will put that camera down and put him to bed! Little snuggly guy!

Birthday weekend!

I decided to take the kids to the beach on Friday to kick off my birthday weekend and visit some friends down there. We had such a nice time, it was Kasper's first time really noticing the crashing waves and to be excited about the scenery. It was such a perfect day...
I loved seeing his feet in the sand, so did AnaSofia...

We spent a lot of time snacking and watching AnaSofia play in the water and sand.

A really beautiful sunflower cake was a special part of my Sunday, unfortunately someone couldn't wait for Momma to finish nursing little K and decided to help herself...

It's Official...

I'm a soccer Mom (minus the minivan)!

I was so excited to sign AnaSofia up for her first year of soccer with the UMaine women's soccer team. It is a great time to run out energy, play games and see friends. It is especially fun when Far comes after work to attend class too!

AnaSofia amazes me with her athletic ability and loves to dribble the ball and run FAST (sometimes too fast for Momma and attached Kasper!).

Although I will admit there is a lot of this:

And this (on those tired days it isn't easy to corral two year olds!):

Kasper is a wonderful little guy at 4 months, rolling over and cooing and SHRIEKING in glee to us all. It is so great to see him socialize with new friends (here is his sweet friend Linus, two months).

And sleeping, ah, bliss...

A Late Spring Weekend

It has been such fantastic weather lately, we are outside soaking it in all the time. Kasper (and AnaSofia!) are barely letting me sleep but I don't notice it because the sunshine keeps me motivated to MOVE. Rainy days tend to hit me like a ton of bricks though... This weekend AnaSofia went to AVITAT to help Far wash the airplane. Such fun for her! She even rode a bus out to the hangar so that was twice the adventure. She couldn't stop talking about it and really wants to go up with Far now.

Kasper and I weeded the gardens and headed to our favorite nursery to check out what new plants they had (note his little homemade onesie!).

He was in LOVE with the daffodils, so nice to stare at nature than a plastic, noisy toy (well, that is what I am hoping anyways!).

Friday Crafting!

It was a wee bit rainy this morning (which actually brought me such joy because I want all those gardens watered!) so while the little man slept AnaSofia and I decided to do a little art project I had been thinking of for awhile.
First we ran out in the rain and collected bits of nature...

And admired the first tulip bloom that was planted to celebrate Hannah's birth.

Then we used wax paper, glue (oh how she loves it!), glitter and bits of nature

To create this lovely work (AnaSofia declared it a kite).

But Momma really likes it in the window.

Kasper woke up in time to give a little love to our neighbors who we are praying for each night, it is going to be a long summer for them.

Hope you all enjoy a really wonderful weekend! We are thinking of you!
