Happy Love Weekend!

Do you remember Valentine's Day in grade school? Spending art time making a really special envelope to hang off the front of your desk, the exciting time when we all walked around delivering cards, the moment when you were knee deep in notes and cards all just for you?! I loved it, and still love checking the mail at our house every day. AND have been known to leave it in the box (much to my husband's annoyance) if I don't find anything worth looking at. But on to our Valentine's preparation!
We spent a lot of time this week gathering together goodies to send out eight special packages to a few of those we love and miss and for AnaSofia's thirteen classmates and three teachers. It was a time of more salt dough ornaments (heart shaped of course!), cocoa heart cookies (a yummy no sugar recipe), crayon hearts and lots of handpainted cards. AnaSofia made all the hearts on her cards and wrote each child's name (I thought that was a pretty good attention span for a three and a half year old!) and then we stuck a heart shaped crayon on the front of each. They looked pretty special, I was really proud of her!

I also sewed a "family heart" from my Handmade Home book for a sweet little family we miss very much. I used a vintage quilt and a piece of felted sweater for the pocket. The heart is for a family member who will be away for a night (sleepovers etc) or to use with a family quote each week. I hope they will love it!

AnaSofia got a special Momma made skirt - she requested it be "big", which I assumed meant long?! She has been twirling and wearing it a lot so I think she approves!

And Kasper got lots of outside time and love...

Maybe a little too much love if anyone was asking...

And Bodey the cat might have to agree with Kasper...

But a little love is so nice when it is JUST right!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend filled with a lot of love!

Yes, the heart is much loved. Islwyn carries it around and goes to sleep clutching it....

Oh these are sweet pictures! I love seeing all of the projects! We loved our cookies. Boppa almost ate his "moose" which was made from the salt dough.
Finally a picture of Bodey! She is very cute and Penny looks happy to have a playmate!
love,
