Growing in the Garden

Every morning I greet the rising sun after satisfying all the little loves' bellies...
That first breath of fresh air is heaven on Earth to me... I have to be outside first thing each morning.
The ladies rush from their henhouse like little rockets 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Then we six, hopefully with one or two little loves in tow parade to the garden to see what is growing.
I love this moment...

There is always something exciting to see, something wonderful to eat...
AnaSofia loves to make elaborate picnic table lunches for us three with all the good eats.
Kasper loves to eat his carrots and all else straight from the ground, soil covered and all.

And I sit criss/cross/applesauce and weed and pick away for a bit and gather the day's ripe harvest for dinner. Carrying it all in on my growing belly.

And because of that belly I tend to be pretty relaxed about what we can get done in a day and if we miss out on a perfectly ripe vegetable, well then, little AnaSofia just brings it in and uses it to decorate the house. Who knew a flowering asparagus was so beautiful?!
