I tend to take my patient, tolerant husband for granted. For instance, the other day I sat down on the sofa with a large tree branch and asked him to make space for me (I was doing a cool art project, no really) and he just giggled, shoved over and patiently allowed me to repeatedly poke him in the eye with my contraption while we watched a movie together... Yes, there are many moments like that. Blissful ignorance on my part and calm acceptance on his part. I forget in the busy chaos and tiredness of the everyday to thank him for all he does, so Father's Day is such a perfect, gentle reminder to give gratitude to him and my own Dad as well. I was able to go alone to his facility that he has spent this past year building from the ground up and was completely blown away walking around with him seeing the progress he and his employees have made. He is doing it, from completely turning this shamble of a house into a place I wish I could stay in forever, to supporting us all while I soak up the little moments with the kids, to fixing every little problem that comes his way (mostly made by me!). And he does a lot of this problem solving with all of us hanging off him like this...
We are so happy to celebrate him this weekend and a little bit more each day this summer. Yes we might be a little annoying, but it is all because we love him so much!
Happy Father's Day!
