Summer pants sewing

Kasper was in desperate need of new pants, he is growing so quickly right now! I found some great mushroom fabric downtown and decided to try a new pattern I found for a cloth diapered bum here that I wanted to try. I love free patterns that aren't patterns at all, it saves time! The pants came out all right, although too small in the bum for a cloth diaper with the adjustments I made (I cut the square 7 x 13 squares 7x 9 because they looked wrong to me...). Maybe 7 x 10 will be better, I am trying that with a pair tonight!

AnaSofia wanted a matching skirt with a "BIG center pocket." It is so big she carried around a few parsnips, a "suitcase" (her words for the numerous purses she is always cramming things into for trips around town) and a few cars for Kasper to play with (she puts a car in her suitcase for him always, it is really cute!).

Now all my sewing machine efforts are focused on AnaSofia's birthday and the big, special, handmade present I am hoping to do for her. It will be a big challenge and I am getting really excited for it! Those are the fun projects for me, I know I am on the right track when I am feeling a little fear mixed in with a lot of excitement...

Cute fabric! Love the skirt. Kasper looks happy in his new pants. Can't WAIT to see you all very soon.
